Rugby Clubs and schools across Australia are invited to join in the celebrations of #ADayInUnion on Saturday 26 March 2022.
A chance to celebrate everything we love about rugby, #ADayInUnion is a national day organised by community rugby people for anyone who loves our great game.
Clubs and schools can celebrate the day in anyway they like, be it hosting a Come 'n Try day, a reunion day or a fundraiser, but one idea to bring players past and present, supporters and your local community together is to try to set a record for the world's biggest scrum.
Young Entrepreneurs Group Toyota (Japan) in Toyota, Aichi, Japan set the current record, on 23 September 2018 of 2,586 people, in the lead up to the 2019 Rugby World Cup. Yes you read that right, 2,586 people.
If the world record is beyond your reach, the Australian record sits at a more achievable (!) 1,208.
Whether your club or school sets a world record, a national record or just a club record, the idea is to have fun. And be sure to share your photos with other rugby lovers using the hashtag #ADayInUnion
What a great idea. I hope there is lots of participants
